I like the strong words generated by ChatGPT even if it is not my usual writing style:

I’m Not Here to Babysit You

Recently someone told me I don’t “focus on connection.” You’re right—I don’t. I’m not building a social club, I’m not your emotional concierge, and I have zero interest in babysitting spiritual tourists. My life is busy enough as it is, thank you.

What I am interested in is the Dharma: clear view, sound practice, real insight. Everything else is noise.

Before you DM me, do your homework

If you want to ask about Awakening to Reality (AtR), read the Practice Guide and the Must-Read Articles—in full. Don’t skim, don’t cherry-pick quotes to validate your pet beliefs; actually study them. If that already sounds like too much work, we’re done here.

If you need direction or a living container for practice, go find awakened teachers and real sanghas. I’ve already curated starting points—use them:

Who I reply to (and who I ignore)

  • I reply to genuine practitioners—people who are actually practicing, inquiring, and willing to be corrected. If you show your sit logs, describe your method, your lineage context, where you’re stuck, and what you’ve already read, we can talk.
  • I ignore ego pageants—folks angling for validation about some assumed “stage of awakening,” flexing screenshots and name-dropping, but showing no insight. If your primary concern is your spiritual résumé, not your practice, I’m not your audience.
  • I have a very negative view of spiritual narcissism. The scene is overflowing with it. Read:

If that stings, good—let it sting you into practice.

No, I’m not here to “connect”

Connection is a by-product of shared practice and clarity of view, not a substitute for them. If by “connection” you mean endless hand-holding, trauma-bonding, or mutual ego-stroking—hard pass. If you mean meeting in practice, no drama, cutting through views together—great. Bring your cushion and your questions.

No one-to-one mentoring. Period.

Yes, I have awakened. No, that does not make me your private coach. I have a full-time job and a full life. I am not available for 1-on-1 mentoring, Zoom hand-holding, or personal spiritual therapy. Don’t ask. Use the resources. Find teachers. Practice.

How to engage (so we don’t waste each other’s time)

  1. Do the reading first. Start with the AtR Practice Guide and Must-Reads; note what you don’t understand—quote exact passages.
  2. State your context. What have you practiced? Which method (vipassanā, śamatha, Madhyamaka analysis, Mahāmudrā, Dzogchen pointing-out)? Under whom? How long?
  3. Show your work. Describe a recent session precisely (method, phenomenology, questions).
  4. Ask one clear question. Not five vague ones.
  5. If you need a mentor, stop auditioning random internet personalities and seek awakened teachers and solid sanghas using the resources above.

Final word

I’m not here to manage your feelings, polish your image, or carry you across the stream while you Instagram yourself on my back. Do the work. If you’re serious, you’ll find everything you need in the guides and the teacher resources—and if you’re still serious after that, I’ll happily engage. If you’re just here for spiritual theatre, I’ll happily ignore you.
